JAMMU, Mar 14: The Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, has provided financial assistance of Rs 17.5 lakh to eleven unemployed youth of Jammu district belonging to Backward and Scheduled Caste (SC) categories.
The Payment Authority Letters (PALs) were handed over to the beneficiaries by Corporation, vice-chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and Managing Director, Ravinder Kumar Pandita, in presence of Divisional Manager, Gulam Qadir Khatana and Jammu district Manager, Joginder Paul Atri in a simple programme held at Corporation Head Office.
Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, on the occasion, said that the Corporation officials, after receiving individual applications with relevant documents from the unemployed males of Backward Classes and Scheduled Caste category, processed the cases and sanctioned an amount of Rs 17.5 lakh in their favour. These beneficiaries will set up their small earning units like Karyana Shop, Chemist Shop, Shuttering material store, Flex Board unit, Photography Shop, Shoe making unit and Brass Band. He stressed upon the loanees to ensure regular payment of the monthly installments of the loan availed by them.
Managing Director, Ravinder Kumar Pandita, while interacting with the beneficiaries, said that they should motivate other unemployed people of their respective areas about the welfare schemes of J&K, SC, ST & BC Development Corporation so that others too can avail the benefits of loan and become self dependent instead of becoming burden on parents. He further said that the loan applications of other reserved categories are under process and will be cleared soon.
The beneficiaries include Rajinder Kumar Makhanpur, Dalbir Kumar of Akhnoor, Ramesh Kumar of Marh, Lekh Raj, Mohinder Kumar and Dimple of Bahu Fort, Balbir Kumar of R.S.Pura, Om Prakash of Gharota, Chander Shekhar of Janipur, Sukhdev Raj of Bishnah and Manmohan Lal of Digiana.
