JAMMU, Jan 7: In the much publicized Amandeep Singh murder case, a three Judges Bench of Supreme Court comprising Chief Justice N V Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli has granted bail to Royal Singh.
After hearing the counsel for Royal Singh, the Supreme Court observed, “the petitioner has already suffered incarceration for a period of more than 12 years and more particularly the fact that there is not much likelihood of the hearing of the appeal preferred by him before the High Court in near future, we deem it appropriate to grant bail to the petitioner”.
The Supreme Court directed that the petitioner be enlarged on bail on terms and conditions to be imposed by the trial court.
