SC has maiden all-women bench

NEW DELHI, Apr 12:
For the first time in the history of the Supreme Court, cases were heard by an all-women bench today.
The two-judge bench of Justices Gyan Sudha Mishra and Ranjana Prakash Desai heard the cases today.
The bench was constituted when it came to light that Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir, the presiding judge of the bench would be on leave for the day.
Justice Mishra joined Justice Desai as the presiding judge.
This all-women judges bench was constituted only for the day as CJI, who is due to retire on April 18, will return on Monday. (UNI)
