JAMMU, Dec 21: J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development Corporation  today organized an awareness cum medical camp in Marh, near Jammu.
The camp was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director of the Corporation and Tanveer Iqbal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu in the presence of Gulshan Kumar Paharia ,Senior Manager , NSFDC, New Delhi and Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Block Medical Officer, Marh.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director of the Corporation in his address apprised that Corporation is working for the socio-economic and educational upliftment of minorities (viz: Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians, Parsies & Jains) Safai Karamcharis/their dependents, and persons with disabilities and  persons belonging to SCs, STs and other Backward Classes by providing them soft loans assistance at concessional rates of interest for setting up of income generating units and also providing educational loans at concessional rates to the students of target groups to pursue professional and technical courses in India and abroad.
Tanveer Iqbal, ADDC, Jammu while speaking on the occasion exhorted the participants to avail maximum benefits of the various schemes of the Corporation and improve  their socio-economic  conditions.
Gulshan Kumar Paharia, Senior Manager, National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) highlighted the schemes of the apex Corporation.
G.Q Khatana, General Manager , Kasturi Lal Bhagat, District Manager,        Dr. Harbaksh Singh, Block Medical Officer, Marh, and Ghasita Ram, Sarpanch Marh also spoke on the occasion.
Free medical check was conducted by a team of doctors led by Dr. Harbaksh Singh BMO, Marh. The other members of medical team were Dr. R. P. Singh, Dr. Shrtikant, Dr. Tanvi Gupta, Dr. Pripishta, Sanjay Khajuria Health Educator, Deep Singh Pharamacist and Sandeep Kumar, MPHW.
About 150 persons were examined, provided consultation and free medicines.
Iqbal Kataria, Deputy General Manager (Projects) responded to the queries of the participants and presented vote of thanks.
