SC, ST Corporation signs MoU with Minorities Corporation

JAMMU, Oct 17: The J&K Scheduled Castes (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) Development Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation, New Delhi to implement the schemes of Minorities Corporation in Jammu & Kashmir to raise the Socio-Economic profile of the minorities of the State.
The MoU was signed by Chairman-cum-Managing Director of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Mohd Shahbaz Ali and Dr Bharat Bhushan, Managing Director, J&K SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation in SCOPE Complex, New Delhi, today. On the occasion, NMDFC released an amount of 1.5 crore in favour of J&K Corporation to implement the schemes of the minorities.
Dr Bharat Bhushan apprised the Managing Director of NMDFC that the State Corporation has submitted an action plan to the tune of Rs 19 crore for current financial year to Apex Corporation and requested for further release of funds to State.
Mohd Shahbaz Ali assured that they will release further funds to the State to give fillip to development of minorities in the State for which Union Government is making all our efforts.
Earlier in the Day, Dr Bharat Bhushan also attended the silver jubilee function of NMDFC in which Union Minister for Minorities Affairs Mukhtiar Abbas Naqvi also participated. The Managing Director, senior officials from 29 States and Union Territories participated in the celebration.
Mohd Iqbal Kataria, DGM projects and Babbar Wani, AAO of the State were present during these celebration.
