JAMMU, May 6: A monthly meeting of All J&K SC and ST Retired Employees Forum was held today under its president Prof (Dr) GL Thapa, which strongly condemned the lukewarm response in defining their position on the issue of Reservation in Promotion in scores of writ petitions in the State High Court. The Division Bench of the High Court on October 9, 2015 had struch down the provisions of reservation in promotion as provided under J&K Reservation Act.
The Forum also condemned the action of J&K Public Service Commission inselecting less number of Sc nand ST candidates for the posts of Lecturers (10 plus 2) in Physics, Mathematics and Zoology. In Physics against 8 postsof Sc and 10 posts of ST candidates, they had selected 3 and 4 candidates respectively by citing the reason that candidates could not cross the minimum criteria. The Forum appealed the Government to fill up remaining posts of Lecturers as per advertisement by applying relaxed standard as provided in the J&K Reservation Rules.
Those present in the meeting were S D Digra, H R Founsa, C L Banal, NMagal Mal, Amar Nath, T C Bavouria, G L Bhagat, G LLakhanpuria, G D Dogra, Parkash Ram, Des Raj Sangral, K L Atri, Harbans Lal Angral and others.
