SC, ST, OBCs condemn atrocities on down-trodden

JAMMU, Oct 23: A meeting of SC, ST, OBC communities was organized by All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch in Shri Guru Ravi  Dass Mandir Bahu Fort here regarding the implementation of reservation in promotions. Prominent Biradri members including retired officers participated in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting Sham Lal Basson, president Dalit Chetna Manch expressed that State Government has failed to protect the constitutional rights of the SC/ST/OBCs. He strongly condemned the statement of Union MoS Gen (retd) V K Singh and termed it anti Dalit. This shows the mentality of such type of people. He also condemned the increasing incidences of atrocities on SC s while referring to recent burning of two Dalit children in Faridabad Haryana.
Jagjivan Lal former Minister, VC Advisory Board for Development and Welfare of OBC, Kuldeep Verma, Yash Paul Kundal former Minister also addressed the meeting and stressed upon unity among the SC/STs and OBCs.
Vijay Lochan who has been given responsibility of NC, SC Cell for Jammu province also stressed for unity and said there should be coordination Committee of these communities to work out strategies to tackle such type of issues.
The gathering was addressed by leaders of various organizations and the speakers decided to frame a co-ordination and also condemned the atrocities on SCs.
