RAMNAGAR, Dec 16: Former MLA and BJP Spokesperson, Ranbir Singh Pathania today called upon the Governor led administration to embark upon the policy of criteria based allocation of resources.
While addressing a public meeting at village Jandriari of Ramnagar, Pathania questioned the rationality behind equal allocation for different areas whose developmental needs are different and asked for budgetary allocation based on the developmental needs of the particular constituency/district.
While complimenting the Governor for presenting an ‘expansive’ budget covering a wide range of segments/ fields/sectors, Pathania pointed out lesser allocation for developmental projection of weaker sections i.e, SC/ST population of the State. He further said that the budget has little/nil avenues for agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and allied sectors which are mainstay of the majority of the population of the State. He said that farmers and orchardists are also having a feeling of let down. Mr Pathania asked for immediate corrective measure into the matter.
Earlier, during the day, expressing solidarity with Daily wagers of PDD, Pathania sat on a dharna with daily wagers of STD wing of PDD at AEE office, Ramnagar, while endorsing their demands for regularization and release of pending wages. He said that payment of timely wages has been upheld as the fundamental right in various judgements of Supreme Court but the State itself is violating this fundamental right of the casual employees who are holding high the flag of the department in providing basic facilities like water, light to the public.
Pathania requested the Governor administration to embark upon a system where timely distribution of wages to these daily rated workers and casual workers is ensured.
Hailing the Governor administration for creation of nearly 27000 super-funerary posts of Teachers for absorption of ReTs and SSA teachers, Pathania called upon the Raj Bhawan also to sought out the problems of these Daily wagers and embark upon a policy for regular release of their wages and regularization too.
Prominent persons, who were present on the occasion, included Rajinder Sharma (Mandal Pardhan Ramnagar), Shonku Kharka, Rameez Sheikh, Makhan Bandral, Kartar Chand, Master Gopal Dass, Pappu Kumar Sarpanch, Raju, Suram Chand Khajuria, Beli Ram, Anil Sharma, Limma Hussain, Vakil Chand, Durga Das, Surinder Singh, Madan Lal, Krishan Lal and Sulekha Devi.
