JAMMU, Dec 19: A delegation of Sikh Coordination Committee (SCC) J&K and All J&K Transport Welfare Association (TWA) led by Ajit Singh (chairman) today met Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo in his office chamber at Civil Secretariat Jammu and apprised of the pending issues and demands of Sikh community and transporters.
While welcoming the decision of J&K Government to implement Anand Marriage Act in the UT, declaring holiday on January 17 on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Sri Guru Govind Singh and installation of the statue of Baba Gurbaksh Singh (Baba Banda Singh Bahadur) at Bhagwati Chowk (Jammu), the delegation members projected several other pending issues and demands of the transporters and Sikh community living in the UT.
On the occasion, Ajit Singh on behalf of SCC, invited Atal Dulloo to participate in ‘Vishesh Gurmat Samagam’ to be held on December 26 at Bhagwati Nagar Chowk (Jammu) to observe Shahidi Diwas of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh and pay tribute to the great martyrs.
Dulloo made the commitment with the visiting delegation to participate in the Gurmat Samagam on December 26 and also assured that all the issues of the Sikh community and transporters of J&K shall be resolved amicably.
Those who were part of the delegation include Surat Singh Toofani, Sher Singh, Vijay Singh Chib, Sanjeev Choudhary, Gurdeep Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Labh Singh, Fateh Singh, Gurjit Singh and Chanchal Singh.
