SCERT celebrates inaugural day of ‘Shiksha Saptah’

SRINAGAR, July 22: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT-JK) today organized the Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Day across Kashmir Division, marking the beginning of the week-long ‘Shiksha Saptah’ celebrations.
The event, conducted under the leadership of SCERT-JK Director, Parikshat Singh Manhas, saw a professional and impressive display of educational materials throughout the Union Territory of J&K.
Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas ensured a comprehensive and well-coordinated effort across the UT, with Joint Director SCERT H R Pakhroo closely monitoring the proceedings.
Pakhroo maintained constant communication with the nodal agency, overseeing the sharing of Google trackers, collection of event details, and assessment of TLM/LTM showcases by Key Resource Persons (KRPs), SCERT faculty, DIET faculty and field teachers.
The day-long activities were part of the nationwide ‘Shiksha Saptah’ being observed from July 22 to July 28, 2024. Jammu & Kashmir’s enthusiastic participation caught attention at the national level during a meeting organized by CIET, NCERT, where all States and UTs presented their activities.
The SCERT-JK team’s presentation, featuring video and image displays of classroom activities, Jaadui Pitara demonstrations and other orientation programs, received particular appreciation.
In subsequent online meetings with RIE Ajmer and CIET New Delhi, the Jammu & Kashmir team showcased their event highlights, including TLM displays for orientation, activities and online demonstrations. The presentation highlighted the extensive participation across the UT, with 694 schools and 50,196 students actively involved in the day’s events.
Activities during the day included TLM demonstrations in classrooms, group discussion sessions and online presentations. These sessions focused on holistic development across various domains, including physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and aesthetic aspects, in line with the National Curriculum Framework.
Director SCERT Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas and Joint Director SCERT KD/Central Hem Raj Pakhru expressed satisfaction with the high energy levels and enthusiasm demonstrated during the TLM Day celebrations.
