SCERT felicitates winners of Toycathon 2023

SRINAGAR, Feb 4: A grand ceremony was held at SCERT Teachers auditorium under the leadership of Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas in which Academicians, Bankers and students participated.
Joint Director Central, Hem Raj Pakhroo, Incharge Joint Director SCERT Kashmir Division Dr Zahoor Ahmad Dar, Academic Unit Head II Mohd Sultan Khan, DIET Principals, SCERT Faculty, District Nodal Officers, Escort Teachers and students participated in Toycathon 2023.
On the occasion, 30 toppers were felicitated with appreciation certificates. The participating students were divided into 3 categories; class 6th -8 th, class 9th – 10th and class 11th – 12th. Top three winners from each category were awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
Wajida Abid, class 7th student from Tibetian Public School, Hawal Srinagar; Ruhid Ahmad of class 7th from HS Paranpillian, Jullah Baramullah and the class 6th student Sameer Ahmad Sulamani of Radiant Public School, Nadihal Bandipora got the prizes in category Ist. In the category second, Soleh Jan (Class 9th) GHSS Amirakadal, Mohammad Muheet (Class 10th) Shah-I- Hamdan Institute Shopian and Shahid Nazir Wagay (Class 10th) of BHSS Arreh, Kulgam secured Ist three positions. In the category third (11th – 12th) Irtiza Nisar (class 11th) of GHS Kangan, Ganderbal got the Gold medal. Taibat-ul-Nisa (Class 11th) of GHSS Trehgam, Kupwara got Silver medal and Sumeet Kour (Class 12th) of GHSS Baramullah got the Bronze medal. Other students who missed by a whisker were felicitated with the participation certificates.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas stressed on the promotion of innovative ideas and revival of local heritage, as Toycathon is not just a competition ,but a platform for collaborative learning, where Academia and Industry can come together to share their ideas and insights for Atama Nirbhar Bharat.
Highlighting the achievements of Toycathon 2023, Dr Manhas said JKUT registered the most number of students throughout India and stressed academicians to imbibe culture of innovation and support the students to extract their skills.
The organizer of the programme was Department of Art and Vocational Education of SCERT Kashmir Division. Vote of thanks was presented by Sajad Ahmad Mir and moderated by Gulzar Ahmad Dar, both Senior Academic Officers at SCERT Kashmir Division.
