JAMMU, Jan 24: In an effort to develop guidelines for Individualized Education Programme (IEP) for children with special needs, a three day workshop organized from Jan 22, concluded today at JKSCERT Jammu.
This programme was organized by Inclusive and Special Education Liaison Cell, JKSCERT Jammu under the guidance and supervision of H R Pakhroo, Joint Director, JKSCERT Jammu.
The three day workshop aimed at providing deep insight and clarity into framing of guidelines for Individualized Education Plan for Children with Special Needs. Resource persons namely Taha Tufail, GMS Chadoora Budgam; Iram Saba, BMS Zadibal Srinagar; Mohd Rafiq Reshi, RP, IE Resource Room BHS Nunner Ganderbal, oriented the participants about International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), its need, model and domains of ICF, ICF checklist , various domains of General and Educational Assessment using ICF, Goal setting and format and Educational Interventions of IEP.
The participants were engaged in group work, discussions and demonstrations wherein they discussed various case studies and systematic coding scheme for CwSN as well.
On the last day of the workshop, Rubina Salma, HoD, Inclusive and Special Education, JKSCERT Jammu interacted with DNOS of all the districts of Jammu Division.
The training programme was coordinated by Sushil Hitaishi, Academic Officer. He was assisted by Neena Puri, AO, JKSCERT Jammu. Deepak Kumar and Ashok Kumar were the technical coordinators. The organizing team included Amit Bhagat, Yogesh Kumar, Meena Thakur and Manisha Chun.
In his valedictory speech, H R Pakhroo, Joint Director exhorted the DNOs, resource persons and Special Education Teachers to work in coordination with JKSCERT so that the desired objective of this workshop could be realized in the real sense.
Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Neeraj Jandial, Associate Professor, JKSCERT Jammu.
Earlier, the inaugural ceremony was graced by H R Pakhroo and F A Fayaz.1/C Joint Director Central Move Office in the presence of Prof Swaran Singh Jaral, Prof Surjit Kumar, Dr Neeraj Jandial, Prof N P Singh, Prof Kishore Kumar and Romi Kumar from JKSCERT Jammu. Welcome address was given by Neena Puri, Academic Officer, JKSCERT Jammu.
The programme was attended by 26 Resource Persons and Special Education Teachers (SETS) from Samagra Shiksha, Inclusive Education and ten DNOS from each DIET of Jammu Division.
