Scholarship distribution camp by HBET commences

JAMMU, Dec 4: Eight day long scholarship distribution camp organized by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) commenced today.
During the camp, 450 rural children will receive scholarship. 90 per cent of the students are girls and 85 per cent are from rural areas.
On the inaugural function, Meera Malhotra, a major sponsor of the Trust from Toronto, Canada was the chief guest.
She was briefed about the mentorship and medical support programmes run by the Trust for all round support of the children.
She told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the trust.
HBET established in 1997 supports children from weaker sections of society with renewed passion to remove ignorance and darkness from their lives by providing the light of education.
Till date the Trust has distributed over Rs 35 lakh in scholarships to over 2200 children.
