JAMMU, Apr 5: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today informed the Lower House that the School Education Department will conduct a survey of children with special needs in all the districts.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of CPM MLA, M Y Tarigami, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “at present there is no residential school run by the School Education Department”. However, the School Education Department will conduct survey of children with special needs in all the districts and identify them.
“Residential camps on the need basis will be organized in the districts for 9 months duration each and special educators will be engaged for the purpose”, he said, adding “at the completion of 9 months camp, children as per assessment will be inducted at different levels (Class Ist to 8th) at the normal schools according to their convenience to integrate them with general students”.
