KATHUA, June 7: A hand pump installed by the PHE Department in the Govt High School Dinga Amb, complex under Tehsil Hiranagar is lying defunct for the last nearly one and half year.
The school children who are nearly 360 in number, have been suffering a lot due to water crisis, especially during hot summer months. Village Sarpanch Kuldip Gupta alleged that hand pump after installation functioned hardly for a few months and then it went out of order. The concerned staff of the department was requested to get this pump repaired but no progress has been found till date. He sought the intervention of Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, K K Gupta in this regard.
