JAMMU, Sept 11: In a rare gesture for encouraging meritorious students, Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Bhalwal has instituted two cash awards for the toppers of Class 10th and 12th.
Principal C D Sharma announced that these two cash awards of Rs five thousand each will be given by him from his own packet. These awards have been introduced in the honour of Capt (Retd) Purshotam Dass Sharma and Col Kartar Singh, the two renowned personalities and social activists of Bhalwal zone, who have contributed a lot for upgradation of the school.
Toppers of this year were presented these awards by the School Principal C D Sharma in presence of prominent of the area, school staff and students.
