School staff suspended for poor performance of students

Srinagar, Feb 18: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag today suspended the staff of High School Pohru Kalnag over the alleged poor performance of students in recently declared class 10 results without even ascertaining the ground facts.
In this regard, an order was issued here by the CEO which read: “In view of their poor performance in the Annual Regular Examination of Class 10th Session Nov-2021…teaching personnel of High School Pohru Kalnag are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.”
Those who have been suspended include Ab Rashid Khan, Headmaster, Farooq Ahmad Lone, Teacher, Mukhtar Ahmad Rather, Teacher, Ab Rashid Khan – RRT, Tasleema Jan, Teacher, Zakir Hussain Lone, Teacher, Mahjabeen Akhter, Teacher, Rafiq Ahmad Khan, RRT, Yasmeena Akhter, Teacher, Mohd Towseef Bhat, Teacher and Javaid Ahmad Kumar, Teacher.
As per the order, the school staff, including Headmaster of High School at Wantrag, falling in Zone Mattan, associated with academics of Secondary classes has also been put under suspension.
However, on the other hand, the suspended teachers stated that there were only 2 students who were set to appear in class 10 examinations and out of them only one student submitted the examination form. They also said that the one, who submitted the examination form, did not appear to write her papers.
“If the students are only 2, and none out of them appears in the examination, how is that a poor performance of the teachers; the concerned officials have issued the orders without ascertaining the ground facts,” one of the teachers suspended teachers said.
