JAMMU, Aug 9: Highlighting their long pending demands and implementation of the Transfer Policy in letter and spirit, J&K United School Teachers Association held a strong protest demonstration near Press Club, here today.
Led by USTA provincial president, Hari Singh, the protesting teachers raised slogans in support of their demands, which included; release of pending salary and 3rd, 4th and 5th installment of 6th Pay Commission of SSA teachers, adjustment of Master promoted under DPC of 2014 February, implementation of Transfer Policy in letter and spirit, etc.
While addressing the gathering, Hari Singh alleged pick and choose in recent transfers, which were allegedly made in violation of much talked about Transfer Policy. He also
expressed grave concern over the non serious and indifferent attitude of State Government towards genuine demands of teaching community. “It is very unfortunate that a large section of teachers is without salary of the last 5-7 months,” he added and warned that if the Government takes no action of their demands, the USTA would have no option other than to adopt agitational path.
The protest demonstration was also addressed by others, who demanded, release of Senior Teacher grade in favour of trained under graduate teachers, removal of pay anomalies in their grades, release of pay arrears of teachers working under SSA, regularization of all ReT, converted from EVs and who have completed five year of service, transfer policy for regularized ReT women teachers, filling up of vacant posts in school, etc.
Those who addressed, included Rajeev Kumar, Kanta Jamwal, Pardeep Singh, Dr Shashi Paul Singh, Sajjad Mirza, Raj Kumar, Siraj-u-Din, Balwant Singh, Ashok Kumar, Zulfkar Ali Malik, Sunil Thapa, Kishori Lal, Sat Paul and Madan Singh.
