Schools to remain closed for one more day in Rajgarh

RAMBAN, Sept 20: Schools falling under the Rajgarh and Bhartund cluster of Ramban will remained closed for one more day (tomorrow) as a precaution on the directions of the district administration.
Officials said following two incidents of bear attacks on pedestrians in Suli, Kumate and Rajgarh areas and keeping in view the safety of students, 19 schools in cluster Rajgarh and Bhartund remained closed today on directions of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam.
The decision to close schools was taken after two incidents of bear attacks and the attacking animals were still at large. The administration has asked the people to exercise maximum caution while venturing out.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam informed that the Range Officer Wildlife along with police personnel, VDCs and locals inspecting habitations in the deep forest area of Kumate (Rajgarh), where 2 incidents of bear attack took place yesterday.
In response to the safety concern, District Administration Ramban has decided to extend the closure of Schools in the Rajgarh cluster for one more day.
People are advised to exercise maximum caution given bear attacks.
