POONCH, Sept 2: Social Welfare Department provided scooties to five disabled persons belonging to different areas of Tehsil Mandi in Poonch district.
Official sources said that total number of 126 scooties have been sanctioned for Poonch district in which 119 were already given to disabled persons at district headquarters Poonch in presence of DDC Chairperson, Members and Deputy Commissioner Poonch, while 5 scooties were provided to disable persons at Tehsil headquarters, Mandi.
Chairperson Block Development Council Mandi Shamim Ahmed Ganai, other elected representatives and TSWO Mandi were present on this occasion. All the five disabled persons extended gratitude to Social Welfare Department and said that it will now ease our problems.
Tehsil Welfare Officer Mandi, Azam Rather said that out of 126 scooties, about 50 were given to disabled persons in Mandi as there is huge percentage of disabled persons here, while we requested left out persons to apply for scooties.
