UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: A Scooty driver died while his pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their two-wheeler was hit by a car near Siyal Sallan on Udhampur National Highway, here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Kumar (21), son of Sunil Kumar, resident of Gole Market Main Bazar Udhampur while the injured, identified as Simran Devi, daughter of Yog Raj of Dansal, was admitted to District Hospital Udhampur.
The accident took place around 9.15 pm when the Scooty, bearing registration number JK14H-2406 was hit by an Alto car (JK13E-6014). Some locals shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur and doctors referred the victim to GMC Hospital Jammu where Rahul Kumar succumbed to injuries today.
