Sir,
Really speaking the news regarding the purchase of 90 Mohindra Scorpios, worth Rs.14.85 Cr gifting to newly elected MLAs of the UT shows the concern of our governments about the comforts and welfare of the legislators, called the servants of the people. There is an old saying Mall-e- Muft Dil Bereham which means ‘the money obtained without any efforts is often spent mercilessly’. Gifting the scorpios to those MLAs who reached the LA after spending dozens of crores rupees from their pockets is like ‘andha bante reorian aa jaa apne ko de’. It is just like feeding the overfed at the cost of those whose hard earned money is doled out to those who already enjoy the facilities in the shape of allowances and perks like free air, railway travel, free accommodation furniture, petrol for the vehicles washing allowances and above all the sumptuous meals at the subsidized rates. The money is being doled out from the tax payers pocket to the persons who have got no right to enjoy at.
Had this and much more amount been spent on the regularization of the youth who have been reeling under the yoke of hunger and unemployment, enhancing the widow, old age and handicap pension the decision would have been hailed and appreciated by all. It is worth mentioning here that the poor legislator spend in crores to win the elections. The voters expect from the MLAs to refuse such freebies which is loot on the pocket of the poor tax payer and the state exchequer. The Governments should keep one thing in mind that there are many who deserve more attention than the honourable multi millionaire legislators.
