‘Scream’ gets shortened season 3

LOS ANGELES, Oct 15: MTV has renewed “Scream” TV series for a third season consisting of six new episodes, instead of 10 like the first two parts, that will premiere next year.
The series inspired by Wes Craven’s slasher movie franchise will also have a new showrunner as Michael Gans and Richard Register are not returning for the third season, reported Aceshowbiz.
Gans and Register replaced original showrunners Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia who stepped down after the first season. The replacement for season three has not been announced.
Details regarding the cast, production start date and the storyline are not available yet.
While waiting for the third season premiere in 2017, fans will be treated to a two-hour “Scream” Halloween special which airs Tuesday, October 18 on MTV.
The special will plant seeds for season 3, as teased in a recently released trailer. Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Santiago Segura and Bex Taylor-Klaus star in the two-hour special. (PTI)
