JAMMU, Aug 6: Nadeem Sharief Niaz, secretary publicity, Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee (JKCC) has said that the ReT teachers not only in Chenab valley but in whole State are being harassed by the Government by its recent proposal of so called screening of ReT teachers who have been selected in past years purely on merit basis.
“This decision of State Government is agonizing ReT teachers who have served to the best of their ability. This attempt will only result into corruption, nepotism and favoritism and bring chaos in education system”, he said in a statement.
Niaz said, “It is injustice with ReT teachers who have been selected purely on merit basis and served in the department from past several years. Some teachers were recruited just before getting over aged”.
He said that the Education Department has proposed to conduct eligibility test of ReT teachers all over the State with an intention to authenticate the credentials of their qualifications. Niaz said this is a controversial decision which could have far reaching consequences on the future of thousands of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers across the State.
He said despite being paid so low ReT teachers have shown great respect to the educational institutions and performed their duties, but Government could not understand that if they were working on so low wages they must be impoverished.
Furthermore, Nadeem Sharief Niaz said that Congress is ready to fight for the rights of ReT teachers who have become victims of inefficient Government. He demanded the Government to release detained ReT teachers who are struggling for their rights.
