JAMMU, Aug 25: The BJP SC Morcha and social organizations should reach out to the members of their communities to educate them about the anti-SC mindset of Congress and NC, which were in power for decades together after the independence.
Balbir Ram Rattan, BJP senior leader, co-incharge Media Relations Department and the former Vice Chairperson, SC, ST, BC Development Corporation, said this during his meeting with a group of the prominent SC leaders of the party and some nonpolitical organizations.
The participants in this meeting included Vijay Anand Gill, president Bharatiya Valmiki Adhi Dharam Samaj, Raj Kumar Shivotra, Saryara Biradari vice president, Jagdish Bhagat, Prabhari BJP SC Morcha, Adarsh Jathiar, BJP SC Morcha general secretary, Ashok Gandhi, Morcha senior leader and Hans Raj Loria, Morcha office secretary.
Balbir Ram Rattan, in the meeting, shared with them that it was most unfortunate for the SCs in Jammu and Kashmir that they had to prove their identity of being member of a particular caste after every 12-15 years. It was not only a time consuming and hectic exercise to procure caste certificate under new SRO but worst kind of harassment. This practice to insult the SCs on the name of procuring new caste certificate was there for decades together under the Congress and NC regimes. He said that the best way to punish these parties is to vote overwhelmingly against them and support BJP, which works on the line of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ and has proved this time and again, which is reflected in every welfare scheme launched during the past ten years under PM Narendra Modi.
Adarsh Jathiar, in the meeting, said that the SCs were also required to possess two separate caste certificates for seeking benefits of reservation in Central and State Government jobs and this too was unfair.
Ashok Gandhi said that the parties, which worked against the interests and welfare of the SCs, should be taught lesson in the coming elections by voting in favour of BJP.
