SDH Gandoh to be completed during 2017-18: Govt

SRINAGAR, June 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today informed the House that Sub District Hospital (SDH) Gandoh in Doda district is under construction at an estimated cost of Rs. 50.01 crore. The J&K Housing Board is the executing agency of the project.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Naresh Kumar Gupta on behalf of  Minister for  Health and Medical Education.
The Minister  said that funds to the tune of Rs. 17.80 crore have been released and utilized up to March 31, 2016. He said an amount of Rs 6 crore has been proposed under National Health Mission Program Implementation Plan (PIP) for the project during the current financial year, saying that the project is likely to be completed during the year 2017-18.
Giving details of the physical status of the work done on the SDH, the Minister said that work is in progress on slab of second floor of Block C and the Column work for Block B has been completed.
For MCH Wing at Bhaderwah, Mr. Basharat said that 50-bedded Mother & Child Healthcare facility has been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare at SDH Bhaderwah under National Health Mission at a cost of Rs one crore.
The Minister said that the funds have been released to the executing agency, J&K Housing Board, which is taking up necessary repairs and renovation works at the old hospital building of SDH Bhaderwah for establishment of MCH. The building is likely to be made functional during the current fiscal, he added.
