SDM Chowki Choura conducts ‘Public Darbar’

JAMMU, Sept 30: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chowki Choura, Virender Gupta today conducted a Public Darbar at Ghaar Panchayat.
Accompanied by his Revenue team and PRI members/stakeholders, the SDM made a visit to Kanehari Panchayat. Reacting swiftly to the specific complaint of one Babu Ram, resident of village Kadooma of Kanehari Panchayat, a visit to the area was made to take stock of the damage being caused to his house.
The Team visited the spot, sensitized the concerned complainant and persuaded him about the development/upgradation of the link-road. The concerned PRI member was entrusted the responsibility to get constructed the requisite protection wall to the adjacent fields. He was also directed to get a proper drain made for the easy flow of rainy-water.
Reacting to the illegal construction having been raised by one Ashok Kumar of village Lagooma, Tehsildar Chowki Choura was telephonically directed to depute his Naib Tehsildar today itself to take cognizance into the matter.
On way-back, a surprise check of Government High School (GHS), Kanehari was made by the SDM and his accompanying team. Proper punctuality of the staff was noticed and proper maintenance of records for Mid-Day-Meal Scheme was too ensured. A surprise check of adjacent lying PHC Ghaar was also made.
Following the directives of District Administration towards beautification drive of the Sub Division, a meeting with Chairman and BDC Chowki Choura along with its PRI members was held.
To break the jinx between the Contractor and the Public Works Department over the completion of patchwork from Chowki Choura to Kanehari Panchayat, the concerned Contractor was called and was sensitized to firstly complete the BT work and thereafter go for early Paver work. The efforts of the SDM were also agreed upon by the concerned Executive Engineer.
Lastly, to curve the practice of violating the traffic-norms, a naka was laid by the SDM and a sum of Rs 4300 was realized on the spot from the defaulters.
