JAMMU, Dec 14: Virender Gupta, SDM Chowki Choura, accompanied by Dr. Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar and his Revenue team visited village Salyote, the extreme tail end of Jammu district, to resolve the issue of Water Body (Kassi) lying between district Jammu and district Rajouri.
On receipt of a complaint from Sarpanch Salyote regarding blockage/encroachment of a natural water body by one Chaman Lal, son of Kundan Lal, of Village Panjwaal, tehsil Sunderbani, the SDM and his team immediately swung into action and visited Ward No 6 of Panchayat Salyote.

On return, one illegal construction at Do-Khadda Nallah was noticed by the SDM, whereupon he directed the Tehsildar to look into the matter and immediately stop the construction work (if it is proved illegal).
While way back, the SDM and his team visited the Western side of Chowki Choura-Bhambla Tunnel to inspect it’s on-going construction work. On inquiring, the engineers of M/s CSC Company (Package-2) briefed that 270 metres of excavation (through Heading-Benching process) has been completed, and added that its height shall be of 10 meters with 12 metres wide in size to facilitate the daily commuters thronging on Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch Highway.
