SRINAGAR, Apr 21: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah today managed to escape unhurt after a snow avalanche hit a vehicle he was travelling in near Sadhna top.

The SDM Karnah Bilal Mohi-ud-din was on his way from Karnah to Kupwara and upon reaching Sadhna top, an avalanche hit the vehicle. The vehicle was buried under snow.
After the mishap, a local army unit launched a rescue operation and managed to pull the official, his Personal Security Officer (PSO) and the driver out of the vehicle.
A Police official said that everyone from the vehicle was rescued.
