SDM inaugurates Multimedia Exhibition

URI, Aug 25: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri, Harvinder Singh today inaugurated a multimedia exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organized by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
The event was organized by CBC’s Field Office Anantnag at Mini Stadium Uri, Baramulla.
The 3-day event is aimed at generating awareness among masses about objectives and vision behind Amrit Mahotsav. The multimedia exhibition showcases freedom struggle of India through a series of photo panels, films and theme based musical programmes.
Speaking on the occasion the SDM lauded the valour and determination of people of Uri in defending the nation by pushing back the tribal intruders after India’s independence.
Joint Director CBC, Ghulam Abass said that people should take benefit of public welfare schemes launched by the government to contribute in national development.
Others who addressed the gathering were Daljeet Singh, Sub Divisional Agricultural Officer who highlighted the efforts of the agriculture department in implementation of schemes for farmers like PM-KISAN.
Zonal Educational Officer, Uri, Chowdhary Shah Mohammad informed about the developments in education sector in Uri.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC informed that in the 3-day event the next two days will have activities like quiz, painting competitions, elocution, film screening and cultural programmes for students and masses.
