JAMMU, Apr 12: SDM Chowki Choura Virender Gupta along with Dr. Raman Jandyal, Tehsildar met PRI members of Panchayat Dhanna Jalara to redress their grievances.
The PRI members raised issues like shortage of drinking water and demanded urgent repair of dug-well at Sukka-Khas near Sullian and the Tehsildar/Nodal Officer (Mining) asked the villagers and PRI members to stop illegal mining in their area in order to rejuvenate and sustain the natural water resources.
The PRI members also demanded augmentation of existing transformer and its immediate shifting to already selected place.
Replacement of damaged electric poles in Ward 7 and making functional the newly constructed Allopathic Sub Centre at Dhanna Dhanu were other demands.
Construction of protection wall in Ward 7, immediate start of MGNREGA works halted for the last three years and issue of land-compensation from Kappagalla to Battal road was also raised.
The SDM assured PRI members to take cognizance of the issues raised.
After this the officers visited Dhanna Jalara and resolved the dispute of forest land through joint demarcation by the Revenue as well as Forest teams.
A surprise visit was also conducted at Govt. Primary School Ambi, Govt. Middle School Ambo Shahni and Govt. High School Dhanna Chappri.
While concluding the tour, a visit to the non-functional Allopathic Sub Centre, Dhanna Dhanu was too made along with concerned BMO and it was directed to make the building functional on rotational basis from next working day to prevent its further damage.
