SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu celebrates 12th Annual Raising Day

JAMMU, Jan 19: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) 2nd Battalion Jammu today marked its 12th Annual Raising Day at Battalion Headquarters Jammu.
Commandant Zahid Naseem Manhas inspected the Battalion quarter guard and congratulated the officers and jawans for their dedication.
During his address, Commandant Manhas highlighted the noteworthy achievements of SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu in 2023.
He commended the personnel for conducting successful rescue operations, including flash floods in river Ujh, Kathua, where 98 trapped individuals were rescued, and a water rescue operation in river Chenab near Khallani, Doda, saving a woman’s life.
“The SDRF teams showcased their effectiveness in search and rescue operations at Ranbireshwar Temple, Jammu, preventing damage during heavy rainfall-induced structural collapse,” he said.
The Commandant praised the dedication and professionalism of SDRF personnel in various rescue operations and allied duties during road accidents in Jammu province.
DySP Daljeet Singh, DySP Mohinder Pal, and ASI Surinder Singh were honored with the DGP Medal-2022-23 for their exemplary service.
A live demonstration on rescuing trapped victims from high-rise buildings and a ropeway bridge during a fire incident was presented.
Additionally, a display of high-value equipments and a photo gallery showcased the SDRF’s capabilities.
In attendance were Aijaz Ali, SP (S), SO (Tigers) to Commandant General, HG/CD & SDRF J&K, Gurvinder Kour, DySP, Arvinder Kotwal, DySP, Nazir Ahmed DySP (S), ADO Directorate of HG/CD & SDRF J&K, and other officials.
