JAMMU, Nov 25: Sanatan Dharma Sabha (SDS) today extended their support to the ongoing agitation by the Sanskrit scholars and students.
This was informed by President SDS, Purushottam Dadhichi in a press conference held here today.
Dadhichi has taken cognizance of the fact that the education department of the Jammu Kashmir government has issued a notification for 575 lecturer posts.
Out of these 575 posts for selection by the PSC, no post has been advertised for Sanskrit, Hindi, Philosophy and only three for Dogri and one for Punjabi.
He said, “Sanskrit is the oldest language in the whole world, crores of people speak, write and read it not only in India but in the whole world. Due to not notifying the vacant posts, the morale of students and researchers is low. The ancient texts of this country are in Sanskrit, the people required for their study will not be available and this is a direct insult to the Sanatan life values, which was done by the Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir.”
SDS has extended its support to the agitation led by Ramnik Sharma of Sanskrit scholars and students in Jammu and Kashmir.
By backing this cause, SDS aims to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Sanskrit, which is an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded that the Education Department and the government should immediately rectify their notifications and make improvements in them and notify all the vacancies for lecturers in Sanskrit, Hindi, Philosophy, Punjabi, Dogri and Physical Education so that recruitment can be done against them.
Dadhichi further demanded that a ‘Sanatan Board’ should be formed to take care of the Sanatan temples and wherever the Sanatan society tries to protect its life values, the government should come forward and support it and not harass the youth of such society who are engaged in cow protection and religion protection.
