SE booked in Vigilance case

JAMMU, Sept 26: State Vigilance Organisation has booked a Superintending Engineer (SE) of the PWD (R&B) Department.
An official spokesman said that Vigilance Organisation Jammu registered a case FIR under Section 5(1) (d), r/w Section 5(2) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act  2006 and Section 120-B/471 RPC against P L Bhushan, SE PWD (R&B) Jammu-Kathua Circle and one Balram Singh, representative of  Self Help Group of M/S Panch Janya Builders Jammu.
The Vigilance team conducted a preliminary verification into the work order in respect of construction of Balta-Stoe road in Basohli area of Kathua, which was allotted in favour of Balram Singh through manipulation of tender process by concerned officers during December 2011. It was found that P L Bhushan SE and others entered into criminal  conspiracy with Balram and the SE by abusing his official position allotted the work of the said road in favour of Panch Janya Builders by manipulating tender process and insertion in rates of tender documents thereby causing loss to the State exchequer.
Accordingly, the Vigilance organization registered a case FIR No. 18/ 2012 in this connection and started investigation.
