JAMMU, Jan 5: Government has constituted a Search Committee for selection of new Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Selection Committee for drawing up a panel of names for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST Jammu, within a period of three months,” read an order in this regard, issued by Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Agriculture Production Department.
As per the order, Director General ICAR is Convener of the Search Committee, which comprises Chairman UGC or his nominee, Financial Commissioner Atal Dulloo and Dr Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General ICRISAR, Telangana as the Members.
Registrar SKUAST –Jammu will provide secretarial assistance to the committee with regular update on the progress to the Administrative Department for perusal of the Chancellor, who is Lt Governor J&K Union Territory.
Pertinent to mention that the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, Prof J P Sharma is turning 66 years on January 15 and 65 years is the maximum age limit of Vice-Chancellor of this Agricultural University.
