Searches in Hiranagar village

KATHUA, Sept 25: A joint search operation was launched by security forces in Hiranagar border village Mahesh Chack following the information of presence of four suspected militants  in the nearby paddy fields of the area.
Following the reports a joint team of Army, CRPF and JKP started massive search operation in the village and nearby paddy fields. The Army helicopter was also put into service for search operation in the evening hours . The helicopter took several rounds in Mahesh Chack and its surrounding villages but did not get any clue of the suspected terrorists.
It was reported that a local inhabitant Ghar Singh of village Mahesh Chack noticed the presence of four suspected armed terrorists in paddy fields this morning at 10 am. He said that he had gone to paddy field to cut the grass for animals. One suspected person in mufti holding the wireless set in his hand and three more suspected persons were laying down in the paddy fields.
He said he was terrified after seeing them in the fields and he ran away to village. He informed  it to other villagers and  sounded police.
Later, a joint team started search operation  which lasted till evening. But no clue of terrorists was found in the area. However, the security forces have been put on alert following the presence of suspected persons. The villagers are also terrified and have demanded that the security forces should guard the area.
The villagers told Excelsior that the route leading via the local nullah in the village where the suspects were seen is connected with Border Post Manyari and infiltration route Chor  Gali of Hiranagar  Sector. The villagers are under tension and worried for  their safety and security.
