Final rolls to be published on Jan 6

JAMMU, Oct 25: The State Election Commission (SEC) today ordered annual revision of the existing Panchayat Electoral Rolls with January 1, 2025 as qualifying date.
The final electoral rolls will be published on January 6, 2025.

Detailed revision schedule of the electoral rolls was issued today by the SEC.
It said all Panchayat Election Booth Officers (PEBOs) shall remain present in their respective Polling Station locations with the requisite for guidance of the electors and receiving claims and objections.
The Assembly BLOs shall assist the PEBOs during these special camps.
The District Panchayat Election Officers, who happen to be the Deputy Commissioners will deploy concerned AEROs (BDOs) of other departments to monitor and ensure smooth conduct of special camps at all Polling Station locations in the districts.
“A total of six special camps will be organized at all Polling Stations across Jammu and Kashmir,” the SEC order to all 20 DCs of the UT said.
The concerned AERO (BDO) will collect all details of claims and objections received on the day of special camps as per the prescribed formation and will submit it to the ERO concerned who will further submit it to the District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner).
A condolidated report of the district will be submitted to the SEC office the next days of the special camp.
