Second batch of Mani Mahesh Yatra leaves

BHADARWAH, Aug 20: The second batch of Mani Mahesh Yatra has left Bhadarwah today along with holy mace for the onward journey to the shrine of Mani Mahesh in Bharmour area of Himachal Pradesh.
A group of 700 devotees from villages Sengoi, Seri, Chakrabati, Taichan, Dradhu, Gutasa, Neota-Karyan, Tipri and Lehrote carrying the holy maces proceeded from Vasuki Nag Temple, Gatha to Khundi Maral through Bhadarwah-Chamba interstate road, where they will stay for the night and will then proceed further towards the shrine in Bharmour.
It is pertinent to mention here that the first batch with holy mace has already left Bhadarwah on August 12 on foot and will reach the destination on August 22.
The second batch of devotees with Mace will go via Bhadarwah-Padri-Chamba route on vehicles and will join the first Chhari at Bharmour tomorrow and will reach the holy lake of Mani-Mahesh on August 22 together to have a dip.
However, another group of pilgrims will leave with holy mace on Janam Ashtami.
Apart from the local administration, the pilgrims were seen off by president Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha Bhadarwah, Virendar Razdan who also joined the holy mace till Sungli village.
Adequate security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of Yatra.
“Three tier security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of pilgrims,” Vinod Sharma, SP Bhadarwah informed.
