JAMMU, Feb 20: Nisha Productions here today launched the second edition of its short film ‘Domestic Violence’ which highlights a lesser discussed yet significant aspect of domestic abuse-violence and humiliation faced by men, a subject rarely addressed in mainstream discourse.
The event was graced by Vikram Sharma, journalist and renowned film and theatre director, as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion he said: “For the first time, a film has courageously depicted the silent suffering, humiliation and emotional trauma that men endure in domestic settings.”
Nisha Gupta, writer and director of the film, shared her motivation behind this project.
After the successful release of her previous film focusing violence against women, she was approached by several men urging her to highlight their struggles as well.
The film received high praises from the distinguished guests present at the event.
Film ‘Domestic Violence’ is currently available on Nisha Gupta’s YouTube channel, where it is receiving encouraging response from viewers.
