SRINAGAR, May 21: Secretary to Government, Administrative Reforms, Inspections and Trainings Department, Amit Sharma here today conducted maiden inspection visit at Government Press Complex Sempora after taking over the charge of the department. He was accompanied by Syed Muried Hussain Shah, Additional Secretary; Aadil Bashir, Under Secretary; General Manager Srinagar Press, Aijaz Akhoon; Gurjeet and Nadeem.
Sharma took an extensive tour of the Press Complex and visited its different sections wherein work was going-on in full swing.
He interacted with employees of the Press and directed the GM Press Srinagar to ensure total safety in terms of fire safety/security and maintenance of total hygienic conditions inside the complex especially in washrooms and toilets.
Amit Sharma also took a round of newly-inaugurated building within Government Press Complex and advised the GM to suggest a working plan for proper utilization of same.
Expressing satisfaction over the working of Srinagar Press, he complimented them for developing website of the Press in shortest possible time which shall be inaugurated soon.
He said that both the Government Presses should adopt e-Governance models and come-up with innovative measures to revamp the working and capacity utilization of men and machinery installed there.
Amit further reiterated that the General Managers should adopt a proactive approach and take orders in future from organizations like universities, banks, autonomous institutions which can give good business to both the Presses.
He listened to various issues of Press Employees and gave instructions to his teammates to redress them in shortest possible time.
Sharma said that there shall be total overhauling in the existing style of Govt Press working so as to make it commercially viable and profit-making unit.
