JAMMU, Mar 29: Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Jammu, Naushad Ahmed Khan today visited slum areas in Jammu district to inspect the living conditions of the workers of the unorganized sector besides assessing implementation of preventive measures being taken by the district administration in combating the spread of the Corona Virus.
Secretary DLSA Jammu advised the people, workers to modify their day to day behaviour and habits as impressed upon in the guidelines/ advisories issued by the Health Department and Government in letter and spirit.
He appealed to the people to maintain social distance, enhance cleanliness and hygiene by keeping their surroundings disinfected and sanitized to break the chain of the transmission of the corona virus infection. He urged them to avoid non essential travel and stay at home.
Secretary DLSA asked Director FCS&CA, Director Relief, district administration and Disaster Functionaries to provide ration to poor migrant workers at different slums in compliance to the lock down orders. He also asked the district administration to sanitize and disinfect slums on regular basis.
DLSA has also appealed the civil society members to come forward and help people working in unorganized sectors so that they may not starve.
