JAMMU, Aug 9: Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) Satish Nehru inaugurated toilet complex at Palace Road constructed at the cost of Rs 6.62 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
The facility has separate enclosures for gents and ladies and being maintained by Lakshya Social Service Organization. The president of the Bazar Association along with office bearers present on the occasion appreciated the initiative of Corporation in providing public convenience which was long pending demand of the area.
Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, JMC present at the time of inauguration, informed the gathering that such public toilet facilities are being provided in different parts of the city especially those areas having large footfall and tourist inflow.
The other demands of the area were also heard and it was assured that they shall be redressed with the efforts to make the city beautiful and clean.
Among others Kapil Sharma, Joint Commissioner, Secretary, Health Officer, Executive Engineers, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Khilafwarzi Officer and other staff from the Corporation were also present.
