LEH, July 24: Secretary, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Ravinder Kumar, who is also the Secretary, Power Development Department and Youth Services and Sports, is on a four-day tour to the Changthang region to review the progress of developmental works.
On the first day at the Durbuk sub-division, Secretary Ravinder visited Animal Husbandry Office, Durbuk to review the working status and fodder bank at Durbuk.
He was accompanied by Councillor Chushul, Chairperson of Block Development Council, Durbuk, Sarpanches of Durbuk, Shachukul, Tangtse, Naib Sarpanch of Kargyam and the sub-divisional officers.
Ravinder Kumar also visited the Indoor Stadium under Rural Development Department at Shachukul, the construction site of the guard room at Tangtse, Veterinary centre at Tangtse, Pre-fabricated huts at different locations, Ice-hockey rink at Satoo Kargyam, fodder bank at Kherapullu and Nomadic Museum at Barma Kargyam.
He held a public meeting at Barma Kargyam and gave a patient hearing to people who highlighted their grievances.
Later, Secretary Ravinder held a meeting with the elected representatives at Tangtse and assured every possible support from UT Administration to the eastern Ladakh in regards to their demands, including connection with the Northern Grid, health, education and sports infrastructure, strengthening livelihood projects and agricultural activities among others.
