JAMMU, Dec 30: Secretary, Department of Rural Development (RDD) & PR, Sheetal Nanda here today visited Mathwar, Bhalwal and Akhnoor Blocks to take stock of the ongoing developmental works in these areas.
She was accompanied by Director General RDD Jammu, Rehana Batul, Additional Secretary, Department of RD & PR, Rakesh Badyal & ACD Jammu, Aijaz Qaiser and other officers/officials of the Department.
The Secretary directed the concerned officers and executing employees to expedite the developmental works under implementation under MGNREGA and other schemes on fast-track basis so that the same are put to public use at the earliest.
She also instructed them to strictly maintain the material-labour ratio and stressed on the construction of community works in the villages so that maximum people can take benefit of the development works and assets being created by the Department.
The Secretary also interacted with the locals and assured them of every possible help by the Department. She apprised the public about the role and importance of Panchayats asking them to monitor all the works being executed in the Panchayats.
The team of officers along with the Secy also visited the block offices and inspected the work files, seven MGNREGA registers, tour diaries, stock registers, work distribution orders and other documents.
