JAMMU, July 1 : The Secretary to Government Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Science & Technology and Fisheries Department Satish Nehru held a meeting of Animal Husbandry Department here today
Besides Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu, Dr. S.L. Bhagat the meeting was also attended by Chief Executive Officer Livestock Development Board Dr. S.K.Abrol, Joint Directors and other senior officers of the departments . During the meeting discussions were held on administrative matters, implementation of State and Centrally sponsored schemes like RKVY, NMPS, RIDF and ESVHD.
The Secretary stressed on finding ways and measures of increasing the milk production, meat production, egg production. He emphasized for taking the innovative measures so that the gap between demand and supply of milk and eggs is bridged besides socio economic upliftment of livestock farmers.
The office of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu and Manager Frozen Semen Bank were also inspected. He took stock of the recently launched liquid nitrogen tanker and liquid nitrogen distribution system of the department for maintaining cold chain for AI inputs to the fields.
He was apprised by the Director Animal Husbandry Jammu that one of the poultry shed at Belicharana has been acquired by the Government for detouring of the canal and cost of the shed Rs. 47.70 lakh has been paid to the department
The Secretary directed to get DPRs prepared for relocating Manager Frozen Semen Bank office at Hakkal and furnish a detail proposal in this regard so that funds paid to the department are utilized for the purpose.
