JAMMU, Dec 12: Civil Secretariat employees staged protest demonstration in support of their demands in the Secretariat complex here today.
The employees under the banner of Civil Secretariat Employees Coordination Committee led by Rauf Ahmed president CSNGEU assembled in the secretariat complex here today. All the constituents of Coordination Committee like LGEU, State Motor Garages, Legislative Assembly and Council participated in the protest programme.
Normal work in the Secretariat remained paralysed for half day in view of the strike. Employees were raising slogans in support of their demands. They were demanding to implement the agreement made with the employees’ representatives.
The gathering was addressed by several senior trade unionists like Rauf Ahmed (NGCSEU) and Maqbool Hussain (LGEU).
They alleged that Government was not serious in addressing the pending demands of the employees. The delaying attitude of the Government has aggravated the problems of the workers and they are left with only choice to come out on the roads. They said Government will be given some time and if the demands were not addressed, the Coordination committee will chalk out future strategy.
