JAMMU, Nov 17: Claiming secularism as core of political philosophy of National Conference (NC), provincial NC president, Rattan Lal Gupta and senior NC leader, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said the party has withstood very tough times in the past.
During a function here today, Gupta called for strengthening the glorious ethos of J&K and stressed on the need for a united front against divisive forces.
He referred to revolutionary steps taken under the stewardship of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in realizing the vision of empowering the people politically, economically and educationally.
Sadhotra said that J&K has suffered immensely during the recent years and all eyes are now set on NC to correct the wrongs committed in governance.
He said that Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah had envisioned a strong, prosperous and secular state which is enshrined in his famous charter of Naya J&K.
Jammu-Samba-Kathua Zone NC president, Babu Rampal; NC vice president Jammu province, Brij Mohan Sharma and Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial secretary Jammu province were also present on the occasion.
Ragbir Singh Manhas, newly nominated district president NC Jammu rural also spoke on the occasion.
