JAMMU, Apr 7: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand alleged that the decision of the BJP Government of downgrading of the State had been full of shock and offence for the nationalist people of J&K who felt betrayed and downgraded post abrogation of special status.
“Not only had the BJP regime dismantled the oldest Dogra State and demoted it as UT, but it had deprived its people from the certain special privileges, envisioned by the late Maharaja for the welfare of his subjects especially those pertaining to land and jobs,” said while addressing the rally at Chaamb Constituency, organised by Block Congress Committee Khour.
The rally was also addressed by JKPCC vice president GM Saroori, Former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Former Minister and chairman J&K Kissan Cell Congress Ch Gharu Ram, Former chairman Legislative Council, Jahangir Mir, Ex MLC Subash Gupta, Ex MLC Naresh Gupta, PCC secretary Narinder Sharma, Adv Rajinder Sharma, Bharat Priye, Corporator Gourav Chopra, Varun Magotra and others.
Addressing the mega rally of party workers at Naryana, former Deputy CM Tara Chand lambasted the BJP for having done the greatest disservice to J&K by demoting it to the level of UT. After the abrogation of Article 370, opening of lands and jobs to outsiders come as a rude shocker for the people of J&K.
He further said that promises to save the land and jobs of J&K by enacting appropriate legislations had been made by J&K BJP unit and Central leadership of the party are proving as merely rhetoric.
He claimed that the outsiders would prefer Jammu over Kashmir for acquiring lands in view of persistent disturbances and security threats in valley. “The BJP Government had not only opened the doors of employment for the outsiders under the provision of Domicile law but also facilitated them to purchase lands through the new land laws,” he alleged.
Ruing the country’s plunging economy with GDP falling to all time low, Tarachand said that back breaking inflation and rise in unemployment has brought the growth rate to the grinding halt and skyrocketing prices of fuel and essential commodities robbed the pockets of the common man.
“All ‘Rozgar’ related slogans have proved as ‘jumlas’ of the BJP,” he said and adding that instead of discussing failure in providing jobs, the BJP only thumping its chest over imaginary development in J&K.
He said that the foundation of the country had been laid on secular ideas by keeping in view of the pluralistic character of the nation but some deceive forces have been weakening the nation by spreading hatred among masses. He urged people to defeat the designs of such forces which can disturb and destroy the secular fabric of our nation.
Suram Singh (vice president DCC Rural Jammu), Ashwani Handa, Brinder Singh, Ankush Raina Jagatar Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Vijay Chib, Gautam Sharma, Daljeet Singh, Captain Kali Dass, Ashok Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma and Prabhu Singh were among the prominents who graced the event.
