Secure jobs of local youth in Govt Deptts: Ex-MLC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 20: Former MLC, Vikramaditya Singh has appealed to the Government to secure jobs of the J&K youth in various Govt departments and give them 100% reservation in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a press statement issued here today, the senior Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh said that the youth of J&K are largely dependent on Government jobs as the private sector has very less footprint in J&K. In such a scenario, if Government jobs are opened for all aspirants across country it will hurt the future prospects of local youth of J&K.
He appealed to the Lt Governor to issue this order before any other jobs are advertised by the Government. He has also appealed to revoke SRO-202 which is a biased law against the youth in which new appointees in the Government jobs are denied HRA,TA, DA etc and are kept on probation for 5 years.
Vikramaditya also said that the relaxation of 5 years to J&K youth in IAS exam should not be stopped immediately as thousands of students who were eligible as per the relaxation and were preparing for the exams have been betrayed. The age relaxation should be at least continued for next 5 years so that these students shall at least get a fair chance and this abrupt decision of stopping the age relaxation doesn’t damage their careers. He urged that the Government should immediately act on these issues in the interest of youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
