JAMMU, Apr 16: Virtually endorsing India’s stand on Jammu and Kashmir, Czech Republic Ambassador Miloslav Stasek today maintained that security was key issue for all round and sustainable development of the State.
“Security is a key issue for sustainable growth of Jammu and Kashmir as 90 percent economy of the State depends upon Tourism sector for which peace is a foremost prerequisite condition,” he said during an interaction with Jammu University faculty members, students and scholars, here today.
Apprehending that complete withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan may impact security scenario in entire South Asia, including J&K, Mr Miloslav asked Pakistan to be more flexible with India. “Next Government in Pakistan after forthcoming polls will have to be little more flexible to resolve all issues with India, including Kashmir,” he said in reply to a query.
The Czech Ambassador stressed that for boosting Tourism and thus economy of the State, adequate infrastructure like big hotels and other facilities needs to be created in Jammu Kashmir besides ensuring safety of the visiting tourists.
Mr Miloslav, who along with other members of an official delegation is on a visit of the State, said that the main focus of his team was to bring universities of India and Czech Republic together through collaborations and cultural agreements.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor of JU, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, gave a brief overview of the university with main emphasis on the courses being offered, ongoing research in various fields of study and the MoUs signed by the university with other universities at the national and international level.
